Tell us more about yourself and why you have decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood Development:
“I chose to study early childhood development because I want to make a difference. Early childhood educators help children develop foundational tools throughout their lives."
What is - from your point of view - the typical role and responsibilities of a childcare provider in an early childhood development field?
”Childcare practitioners are also known as day care workers, are responsible for the care and supervision of children's basic needs. In addition to caring for their basic needs and ensuring their safety, childcare workers teach crucial developmental skills and prepare children to be engaged, independent learners in the future. Working in this profession allows you to be creative and nurturing as you make a difference in the important, early years of a child’s life.”
What makes you excited to work with children?
”Witnessing development - You can see children's progress from their first smiles and coos to their first steps and words.
Positive impact - You can positively impact children's lives in a meaningful way.
Creative opportunities - You can be creative in your work, such as by attending art classes to help build creativity.
Unique adventures - You can engage in different tasks and activities every day, as children are exciting and unpredictable.
New perspective - You can gain a new perspective on the world and be excited about the little things in life like a child does.”
What is your main field of study?
