“I would like to give some feedback after we were introduced and used the Soft Towel Lotion for bedbaths and the Demalux cleaning wipes on our residents.
After the demonstration in November 2021, we were all in awe of how easy it looked and how much time will be saved with bed baths.
It is easy enough for care workers to use and they found it so exiting to do. The residents that they used it on was relaxed and enjoyed the bath, because they were comfortable and not exposed.
This is one of the things that patients do not like about a bed bath – being exposed while being washed, soap rinsed off and then dried – they feel exposed when washed and rinsed with a cloth and then the vigorously rubbing with a towel to dry. They also get cold in between these actions.
With the Soft Towel Lotion bed bath, this is all done in once with a nice warm towel and massage-like rubbing. When removing the towels, the person are dressed and made comfortable in the bed.
The patients that we used this on was bedridden due to cancer and post stroke injuries. They agreed to have this used for each bath.
One of our residents that we also used it for therapeutic reasons, is a lady with motor neuron disease in an advanced stage. She experience pain with any movement. With the soft towel lotion bath, we did not have to move her a lot. Even when she could go to the shower earlier, we used this way of washing her on the shower chair with minimal discomfort.
All our staff is very excited about the time they save, the calming effect this has on the resident, the soft feel of the skin of the person. No need for rubbing the person’s skin with lotion and elevating the risk of skin- breakdown.
More residents are being introduced to the product and enjoys the comfort and the efficiency of the product.
The Dermalux cleaning wipes is big and easy to use when we have to do a nappy change and we don’t need to prepare a basin with water to do a half wash.
