Our team of registered nurses (RNs)—also known as sisters or professional nurses - are involved in in-home and virtual nurse assessments, creating care plans, and onboarding caregivers. They’re also available for follow-up visits.
Home Care Nurse Assessments
Get a care assessment by an experienced registered nurse (RN), so your or your loved one’s care starts off right. A home care nurse assessment is an essential part of understanding your or your loved one’s health and care needs.
In-Home Care Nurse Assessments
An initial in-home care assessment—conducted by one of our registered nurses—helps us to put together a care plan by better understanding your requirements. It also does wonders for orientating the caregiver and client.
How it works
Who is it for?
Available to all new clients and as a stand-alone service.
What does it include?
A 45-minute - 1-hour in-home assessment followed by a care plan and caregiver orientation (where applicable).
What will you receive?
You will receive a report within 48 working hours. This assessment is also a requirement by most medical aids who provide home care service cover.

In line with the provisions of the HPCSA, we are offering virtual home care nurse assessments as an option that is safe and convenient.
How it works
Who is it for?
Available to all new clients and as a stand-alone service.
What does it include?
A 30-minute video call followed by a detailed report and Zoom recording (where applicable) for your records.
What tech do I need?
Access to a desktop or laptop computer, or a phone with a camera function.
What do I need to download?
We’ll send you a link to join a Zoom meeting, as well as how to download Zoom for free. This is our preferred way of conducting virtual assessments as it allows us to record the meeting (in line with the provisions of the HPCSA). That said, we can arrange a WhatsApp video call instead.
We can happily arrange a test call to ensure you’re set up and comfortable.
How to prepare
To make the process run as smoothly as possible, please have the following ready:
Values:
Heart rate (see below)
Blood sugar level
Blood pressure reading
Hearing aids:
If you wear hearing aids, then please put them on.
Clothing:
Wear loose-fitting clothing so we can easily assess your legs. Compression stockings are fine.
Medication:
Have all your medication with you (in its original packaging).
Other:
Make sure your battery is fully charged and you have a pen and paper ready.
Follow-Up Visits
Our RNs are also available for follow-up visits, where they’re able to assist with:
Wound care,
Catheter care,
Assessing basic vital signs,
Administering medication
Nasogastric tube insertion and feeding, and
Oxygen therapy.
