What makes you a good caregiver?
“I am a good caregiver because I always put my client’s best interest first. My client always trusts me as I treat them the way I would want to be treated should I have been in their position. I care a lot about my clients’ mental state and always observe their behavior to ensure quality care for them and make them feel loved. Trust is very important as a carer as I want them to feel that their lives are in good hands”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?
“I feel most qualified working in Dementia, Physical and Mental Disability, Palliative, Frail and Pressure care, as well as nanny care, and other requirements from my experience working at frail care facilities and hospitals.”
What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
“What makes me most excited about working with seniors is the relationship that develops in my time working with them. I feel privileged when they start treating me as a family member and not a stranger anymore.”
What was your best day at work and what made it good?
“My best day at work was my first time working with a client that had dementia. I was able to settle the client and our relationship grew ever since. We had so much fun together and we were both comfortable around each other, like family. It made me feel good because that made me believe in myself and my abilities, and I was always her preference - they called me her favorite!.”
What personal values are most important to you?
“Integrity, discipline, and compassion”
