Tell us more about yourself and why you have decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood Development:
“I'm dedicated and driven, with a strong passion for making a positive impact in everything I undertake. My commitment to assisting others extends beyond my personal endeavors; my family and I are actively engaged in community service, where we are involved with a soup kitchen where we provide meals to underprivileged children and adults. This desire to create meaningful change, combined with my abilities, motivated me to pursue a career in ECD.”
What is - from your point of view - the typical role and responsibilities of a childcare provider in an early childhood development field?
”It's important for a childcare practitioner to be observant towards the children in your care as well as to provide healthy nutrition to help with their development. As a childcare practitioner, we should attend to the child's health, nutrition, development and other needs, but most importantly, you should possess compassion.”
What makes you excited to work with children?
”What make me excited about working with children is being the reason they get to learn amazing things and being around them while they learn new things. I love how inquisitive children are, it is really amazing and I just love all the questions. Watching them become excited to learn something new is really eye opening, sometimes adults can learn from children too.”
What is your main field of study?
“CareChamp College Early Childhood Development Practitioner (NQF4) - Graduation: 2024.”
