What makes you a good caregiver?
“I think patience, empathy and compassion are essential when being a caregiver. This is a job that requires a lot of tolerance for challenging situations, as well as good communication and a positive attitude. Additionally, you need endurance and physical ability to support patients with certain tasks.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?
“I've gained experience in various types of health conditions such as Palliative, Mental, and Physical Disability care as well as nanny care, and other requirements from my years of experience working at frail care facilities as well as hospitals. I’m comfortable and experienced in working with both adults and children too.”
What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
“Most elderly people have lived full and fascinating lives. I’ve learnt from their stories and experiences, as well as the knowledge that comes from it. This is what people often say is the best thing about caring.”
What was your best day at work and what made it good?
“Everyday is my favorite day! I became a carer as I felt it is my duty to care and look after the elderly. It makes me feel I am appreciated and grateful that I am looking after others’ loved ones. Working in this industry teaches me so many things that are beneficial in everyday life.”
