What makes you a good caregiver?
“I always make the client and their family members feel at ease by showing compassion and having patience for my client’s needs. I like to ensure I create a safe environment for my clients and communicate professionally with any family member about the needs of the elderly or disabled individuals under my care.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?
“I feel most qualified working in Dementia, Mental and Physical Disability, Parkinson’s, Palliative, Frail, and Pressure care, and other requirements from my experience working at frail care facilities and hospitals. I am also experienced in PEG feeding and wound monitoring as I’ve gained most of my experience working through frail facilities as well as various clients.”
What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
“Most elderly people have lived full and fascinating lives. I learn from their experiences, knowledge and stories while I’m with them. Knowing that my care will make a positive impact in their lives makes me excited to be the one to work with them. Overall, I love meeting new people and seniors are amongst the best people to interact with.”
What’s the best day at work you’ve ever had and what made it so good?
“My best day at work is any day that my clients are happy. When the clients are happy and healthy, you receive the greatest support from their families and that makes your duty so much better.”
What personal values are most important to you?
“Compassion, honesty and respect.”
