“ In December 2023, I cared for a post-operative patient, managing her medication, meal & snack preparation, and setting up her video calls with her son overseas. This experience showcased my capabilities, honesty, attentiveness, and innovative approach. We also visited the library and did passive exercising thrice a week, she was very resistant but with patience and motivation she managed to regain her mobility strength.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver?
“ Over the years working in frail care facilities, private hospitals, and private clients, I have gained the necessary experience in assisting with general Frail Care, Dementia Care, Palliative Care, Post-Operative Care, Physical Disability Care, Assessing Basic Vital Signs, Basic Catheter Care, Stoma Care, PEG insertion and feeding, Stroke Care, Diabetic Care, Pressure Care, Wound Care Monitoring, Transferring assistance, and Basic Oxygen Therapy assistance.”
What makes you most excited about working with seniors?
“I appreciate their straightforward nature. Being at the receiving end of their wisdom is so wonderful and I enjoy hearing their stories.”
What’s the most interesting thing about you that we don’t know from your resume?
“I am currently in my final year at Unisa, pursuing a B.Ed, and I occasionally tutor children in my neighborhood on reading skills.”
