Tell us more about yourself and why you have decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood Development:
“I'm a diligent and dedicated worker who takes pride in my responsibilities. For the past year, I've been serving as an assistant teacher for grade 1 at a local school. I'm enthusiastic about expanding my skill set and have honed my abilities while working in the foundation phase, where I've had the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of children.”
What is - from your point of view - the typical role and responsibilities of a childcare provider in an early childhood development field?
”The motivation behind pursuing ECD is the deep personal fulfillment it offers - especially as I wish to evolve and develop myself, as well as the profound affection I have for children.”
In what skills area do you feel most qualified to be a caregiver and childminder?
”Over the years, I have developed experience in caring for babies and children of all ages. I am skilled in bottle feeding, burping, and providing sleeping assistance, among other essential childminder tasks. Within my ECD course, I’ve learnt to stimulate mental, physical and cognitive development which I’ve put to practice at ECD centres.”
What makes you excited to work with children?
”Each day working with children promises to be distinct. Engaging with children is highly enjoyable as it involves actively participating in various activities and games with them.”
What is your main field of study?
“CareChamp College Early Childhood Development Practitioner (NQF4) - Graduation: 2024.”
