“There are various skills a caregiver needs to be competent. Empathy and understanding I believe are the first two. Seeing things from the client's perspective and providing care that is based on their individual needs. Excellent Communication and Listening skills are also pivotal to the role. I have experience in, Dementia care, Physical disability care, Care for children with disabilities, Palliative care, Assessing basic vital signs, Care of paraplegic and/or tetraplegic patients, Care of schizophrenic patients, Catheter care, Pressure care, Wound care, PEG insertion and feeding, Nanny Care, Colostomy care.”

“They appreciate my time and what I do for them. It gives me some perspective on the aging process and I can learn from their life experiences.”
